Himanshu Tripathi MA (Economics), M.Ed is a UGC NET qualifier now pursuing Ph.D in the area of Economics of Education and Higher Education. He was the first rank holder of Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner in M.Ed (IASE, Bikaner) examination. Author presented his original research papers in several National/International level seminars and many times awarded with best paper award. There are total fourteen research papers published in National/ International journals against his name. He also acted as a resource person during his Ph.D period at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala.

The rising cost of higher education is a topic of deep concern today. Hence, there is need to strengthen the education system at all levels economically. In the book, starting from demand and supply laws in the field of education to its equity in access has been discussed. This is necessary to understand what, how and for whom to produce before formulating the educational policy. The efficient planning of educational policy requires knowing about various costs of financing education, unit cost of education and sources of financing. There should always be a mutual understanding between centre and state while deciding for monetary allocation in educational field.
