Dr Lancy D’Souza was graduated in B.Sc from Mangalore University, later continued his post-graduation in University of Mysore in Psychology. He obtained his Ph.D degree from University from Mysore. He has pursued diploma in Bio-diversity from Inuyama University, Kyoto, Japan. Later he joined as a lecturer at Maharaja’s College, University of Mysore, Mysore. At present he is working as an Associate Professor in Psychology, Maharaja’s College, Mysore. Dr. Lancy D’Souza is serving as member/chairperson of board of studies and board of examinations in several universities and autonomous colleges of few states.
Dr. D’Souza has extensively worked on shyness as thrust area of research. At present his research team is working exclusively on addiction to social media and sleep quality on students of both professional and non-professional courses. Dr. D’Souza has published more than 183 articles in national and International journals. He is in the editorial board of 5 journals. He has edited 4 books on emerging trends in behavioral sciences. He has successfully guided 27 students for doctoral degree (Psychology, Criminology and Forensic Sciences) including foreign students and 25 students in M Phil degree. At present he is guiding 6 students for doctoral degree and one candidate for post-doctoral degree.
Dr. D’Souza has visited more than 27 countries including France, Switzerland, UK, Japan, Australia, Africa and Malaysia. He has participated in several national and International conferences and presented papers /chaired sessions too. He was the principal investigator of UGC funded project on Shyness. He is the statistical consultant for several institutes in Karnataka and other states.
